How Felt Pet Portrait Works
1. Choosing the Right Photo
To create a portrait that truly captures your pet’s spirit, I rely on clear, well-lit reference photos. Here’s what works best:
- Taken at eye level (straight-on or side profile)
- Natural light with no heavy shadows or filters
- Your pet’s face fully in focus, with visible eyes and relaxed expression
- Sending multiple photos is highly encouraged—it helps me understand your pet’s unique features.
Avoid:
- Blurry or dim photos
- Filtered or edited images
- Photos taken from above, or with your pet lying down
- Photos of printed photos
Feel free to reach out before ordering if you’d like me to review your images.
2. Placing an Order
When commissions are open, simply purchase the item you’d like through my website. Within 2–4 days, I’ll email you to request:
- Your selected pet photo(s)
- The colors and materials for the artwork
- Whether you’d like to include a small, clean amount of your pet’s fur (optional)
3. Timeline & Shipping
Each piece is handmade with care, so please allow 4–6 weeks for completion once I’ve received all your materials. During peak seasons (like the holidays), orders may take longer. I currently ship international.
4. Holiday Orders
Orders placed in November–December are not guaranteed for holiday delivery, but I’ll do my best to meet your timeline. Ordering early is highly recommended!
5. Custom Work & Artistic Style
Each portrait is my personal artistic interpretation of your pet. While I strive for likeness and detail, variations from the original photo are natural due to the handmade process.
6. Returns & Refunds
Because all work is custom-made, I do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds. If you have concerns, please contact me before placing your order—I’m happy to help clarify the process.
7. Care Instructions
Felted pieces are delicate. Avoid washing or direct contact with water. To clean:
- Use a lint roller gently around (not on) the artwork
- For surface dust, use compressed air from a safe distance
8. Artistic Rights
I reserve the right to share images of your finished portrait for promotional or educational purposes. If you’d prefer it remain private, just let me know.
